A video showing a specific cleaning gadget went viral in my feed with no visible shop link anywhere, so I ended up scrolling the comments until I found someone else who’d already asked and gotten the product name from the creator directly.
Start With the Obvious Spots
The caption, a pinned comment, or a Shop Now tag on the video are the first places to check — creators often make the product easy to find without needing to dig.
When There’s No Direct Link
If nothing’s linked, searching specific details mentioned in the video — color, material, a distinctive feature — is usually enough to track the item down through search.
- Check the video’s caption or pinned comment first
Creators often mention the product name or brand directly in the text.
- Look for a Shop Now tag on the video itself
If the product is officially linked, this is the fastest and most direct route to the listing.
- Search specific details mentioned in the video
Color, material, or a specific feature mentioned out loud can help narrow a search if there’s no direct link.
- Check the creator’s profile or other videos for the same item
Creators sometimes feature the same product across multiple videos, occasionally with a link on one but not another.
Once You’ve Found It
Before buying, it’s worth using a good search term to check whether a better-priced or better-rated version of the same item exists from a different seller. You might also find Using the Shop Now Button useful.
FAQ
Why doesn’t every viral video have a direct shop link?
Not every creator links the specific product, especially if it’s not part of a paid partnership or their own listing.
Is there a search feature specifically for finding products from videos?
Not a dedicated one, but combining details from the video’s caption, comments, and a general search usually gets you there.
Can I ask in the comments if a video doesn’t show a shop link?
Yes, that’s a common and reasonable way to ask the creator directly if others haven’t already asked the same question.
Are viral products always available on TikTok Shop?
Not always — some featured items are only available through external retailers, especially if they’re not part of the TikTok Shop program.
